secure firefox's display of SSL websites
by konsolentier
introduction
With Firefox 3, Extended Validation Certificate are supported. Standard SSL Certificates are shown like in the picture below. However, in Firefox 2 a yellow address bar shows that a website uses a SSL Certificate. To increase SSL security in Firefox 3, we suggest to modify the display behavior.
configuration
In the address bar, type
about:config
to modify Firefox's behavior (You have to promise that you will be carefull).
Type now in the filter bar
browser.identify.ssl_domain_display
and modify the integer value from 0 to 1.
conclusion
Websites with standard SSL certificates will show now the complete domain name in blue.
